About the app
AI Lessons Lite offers short courses about AI for adults: what it is, what it is good and bad at, how to get good answers, and how to stay safe with it. Each lesson is a few minutes of text, often with a step to try in another OfflinAI app, and a few questions to check your understanding.
The app comes with three courses, nine lessons and eighteen questions, written for this app: What AI is, in plain words; Getting good answers; and Staying safe with AI. Questions are either choose one or type the answer. After you answer, you see the right answer and an explanation. Your first answer counts for the score, and you can try the questions again to beat your best round.
Progress is kept for each learner on your computer. A learner is only a first name or nickname. There is no account, no email and no age. Several people can share one computer, and Forget this learner removes a person and their progress after asking. Continue where you left off takes you to the right lesson.
When a lesson has a step to try, it shows the step and an Open button for the OfflinAI app involved. If that app is not installed, the lesson says so and points you to the OfflinAI Launcher.
You can ask the teacher a question about the open lesson. The teacher answers from that lesson's text only and says so when the lesson does not cover your question. Every AI answer is marked as written by AI and possibly wrong, with the lesson text as the reference. Without OfflinAI Server, the app shows the passages of the lesson that best match your question. You can also have a lesson read aloud, which uses OfflinAI Server on your own PC to speak.
Lessons are plain text files. Add a new course by dropping a file into the lessons folder, or use the Add a lesson pack menu. A pack that cannot be read is listed with the line that is wrong, and other courses still load. A pack can also replace a built-in course to correct it.
Everything stays on your device. Only your questions to the teacher and text to be read aloud go to OfflinAI Server on your PC. Nothing is sent to OfflinAI, there is no account, and no data is collected. This version is written for adults.
